"This last summer has been a busy one. I attended workshops given by Mary Anne Beckwith and Robert Burridge...both very inspiring. I was also chosen as the official artist for the Aiken Polo Festival for all of their promotional work. I donated my painting, "Reach For The Cure", which was auctioned off at the end of the Ladies' Polo Tournament for the benefit of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I also donated two giclees to the Skyline Farm Dog and Pony Art Show in Maine.

My Connemara trick pony, Smokey, and I put on a performance for a children's party at the Aiken Center for the Arts, which included Smokey painting at his easel. The paintings were then auctioned off to benefit the Aiken Center for the Arts. After Smokey painted his masterpieces, the children were all invited to paint Smokey’s Connemara pal, Linus. He stood like an angel for 25 children at a time to paint him ears to tail with tempera. When we gave him a bath that afternoon, we were surprised at just where the children had been painting! He is a saint to have let the kids adorn not only his top and sides, but also the insides of his ears, his lips, under his belly, his private parts and well under his tail! He received an extra large carrot for being so patient!

My work has been seen in Easy Street magazine, Sidelines magazine and Polo Players Edition, as well as the local newspapers here. I enjoy doing oil pastel paintings and commissions, but I have a part of me that lets go and dives into abstract and collage work. I will get brave and feature it here on my site soon. On occasion, the silly side of me emerges and the whimsical paintings call to be let out of my always busy brain.

Life is constantly exciting and challenging for me. The four dogs, two cats, six Connemara ponies and fifteen chickens keep me busy. I travel quite a bit and am always gathering more inspiration for paintings. I finally have a four-in-hand going of gray Connemaras, and I look forward to taking friends on wonderful picnic drives here in our famous Aiken Hitchcock Woods."
